Our client is seeking a Head of Compliance to play a pivotal role within their organisation. This full-time position will be responsible for ensuring that all operations comply with applicable legislation and regulations, contributing significantly to the integrity and the risk framework of the business. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Director and will be a key figure in fostering a compliance culture within the team.
Job Duties:
- Act as the Compliance Officer and MLRO/DMLRO, serving as the primary point of contact with the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority.
- Review, advise on, and implement all applicable legislation and regulations.
- Manage the compliance monitoring programme to assess adherence with regulations effectively.
- Undertake internal audits to examine the validity and robustness of internal controls.
- Review advertisements and other promotional content for compliance.
- Ensure collective investment scheme documentation aligns with relevant regulations.
- Keep policies and procedures updated to meet both company and regulatory needs.
- Oversee risk management processes within the business, advising on the implications of new products and procedures on the risk environment.
- Manage and review the company’s risk policies and risk register, monitoring controls designed to mitigate identified risks.
- Promote a strong compliance and risk awareness culture throughout the organisation.
- Develop effective relationships with directors, staff, third parties, and professional intermediaries.
- Facilitate anti-money laundering training for staff.
- Manage a small team, providing training and mentoring to foster their professional development.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of fiduciary and funds service operations.
- Extensive experience in compliance, risk, and/or audit roles.
- Prior experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO is an advantage.
- A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in a compliance-focused role.
- Possession of a relevant professional qualification, such as ICA.
- Proven ability in the management, development, and implementation of policies and procedures.
