Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Finance Officer to join their dynamic Finance team. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable team, with an emphasis on accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. The successful candidate will engage in daily financial activities, from monitoring invoices to executing payment runs while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and adherence to internal controls. This is a full-time position which involves collaborating cross-functionally, making it ideal for a proactive individual looking to advance their career in finance.
Job Duties:
- Ensuring invoices, disbursements, and expenses are authorised by the appropriate person or supported by relevant contracts before recording and submitting for payment.
- Setting up online bank payments and credit card payments accurately.
- Liaising with banks to ensure international suppliers receive full payment.
- Assisting with the reconciliation of supplier ledgers and credit card statements.
- Recording payments accurately and ensuring the timely reconciliation of bank accounts, dealing with FX adjustments where required.
- Supporting the correct treatment of P/L and balance sheet items in accordance with accounting standards.
- Assisting with monthly budget reconciliations against actual costs, aiding the Group Financial Reporting Manager in variance discussions.
- Supporting compliance reporting activities quarterly and adapting processes to meet updated regulatory needs.
- Ensuring cash balances are held in appropriate bank accounts and currencies for weekly and ad-hoc payments.
- Aiding in the management of intercompany transactions and working with the Accounts Receivable and Billing team to manage cash flow.
- Participating in finance improvement projects and implementing efficiencies in daily tasks.
- Assisting the Financial Reporting Manager and broader finance team with projects as required.

- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4-9 and A Levels or equivalent.
