The Finance Assistant role is a crucial part of this dynamic environment, where you will support the Finance Officer and Manager in a full-time capacity. Your contributions will directly impact financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the team’s activities.
Job Duties:
- Support the Finance Officer and Finance Manager during monthly and quarterly billing procedures.
- Assist with the correct treatment of profit/loss and balance sheet items, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and budgets.
- Review and maintain the finance system regularly to ensure it is up to date.
- Accurately set up online bank payments and credit card transactions.
- Liaise with banks to ensure international suppliers receive full payment on time.
- Ensure all tasks are performed according to the finance procedures manual, keeping procedures consistently updated.
- Record payments accurately and ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, addressing foreign exchange adjustments where required.
- Conduct electronic and physical filing of invoices in the absence of the Client Support Assistant.
- Assist team members during busy periods or when uncertainties arise, providing cover when necessary.
- Participate in projects as requested and pursue an appropriate accountancy qualification, such as ACCA, with support from the company.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Computer literate with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, primarily Word and Excel.
- A willingness and ability to learn new systems and processes.
- Proficient in using IT skills to present and communicate information effectively.
- Capability to communicate critical deadlines and escalate time-sensitive tasks to management.
- Strong prioritisation skills to manage a busy workload.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to learning new tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
