Temporary Client Support Officer - 6 months

Our client is seeking a dedicated temporary Client Support Officer to join their Payments and Operations team. This role is critical in supporting the Banking management team by processing internal and external transactions while ensuring accuracy under tight deadlines. The successful candidate will engage in various clerical duties, assist with client enquiries, and take on non-client facing administrative tasks, all while delivering exceptional client service to both internal and external stakeholders. This full-time position is fixed-term for 6 months.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure all transactions, payments, and FX instructions are executed accurately and in accordance with processes and regulations.
  • Monitor the Payments mailbox in Outlook, ensuring timely action on payment requests.
  • Provide quality service to internal and external banking clients, addressing their banking requirements efficiently.
  • Respond to telephone queries and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Investigate payment queries and resolve outstanding items, liaising with relevant departments as needed.
  • Undertake various account administration tasks, including closures and updates to customer records.
  • Complete tasks outlined in the Payments daily checklist.
  • Ensure all payments are properly accounted for at the end of each day.
  • Generate monthly/quarterly client statements and ensure timely posting.
  • Plan and organise workload to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and processes to enhance team efficiency.
  • Perform a variety of ad-hoc tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent standard, preferably with passes in Mathematics and English Language.
  • Familiarity with domestic and non-domestic payments and banking systems.
  • Practical understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) policies.
  • Strong communication skills with a client service focus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
