Our client is seeking an Information Protection Senior Associate to join their dynamic Business Enablement team in either Guernsey or Jersey. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers a unique opportunity for a risk professional to contribute to the internal risk management of a leading professional services firm. In this pivotal position, you will play a significant role in supporting the firm’s commitment to information security, data protection, and technology risk governance while assisting various business units in navigating the regulatory landscape.
Job Duties:
- Implement and monitor firm policies related to information security and protection.
- Promote awareness of information protection risks across the organisation.
- Conduct control assessments and liaise with UK and global information protection teams.
- Investigate and evaluate potential data breaches within the Channel Islands.
- Monitor regulatory developments and complete necessary regulatory returns.
- Advise client engagement teams and business units on data protection risk assessments and implementing mitigating controls.
- Develop and implement technology risk governance policies and processes.
- Assess new applications and systems while collaborating with global and UK technology risk teams.
- Support business units with technology risk matters and undertake business monitoring.
- Prepare management reports and aid in the design and improvement of systems that support the internal risk function.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in information security, data protection, controls assurance, or technology governance.
- Strong critical thinking skills to analyse business activities and identify relevant risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for interaction with various stakeholders.
- Good project management capabilities and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Proficiency in IT skills with the ability to adapt and learn new technologies.
- A keen attention to detail and initiative in decision-making processes.
- Right to work in the Channel Islands, as per housing and work restrictions.
