Senior HR Advisor

Our client is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to provide efficient, responsive, and high-quality HR advisory services to line managers and employees in the busy Bermuda office. The role is based in Jersey and reports to the HR Relationship Manager. This position requires flexibility as urgent work may occasionally need to be undertaken outside of core office hours. The role is full time, consisting of 37.5 hours per week, with the option to work from home one day a week.

Job Duties:

  • Provide high-quality HR advice and guidance to managers and partners to facilitate the early resolution of employee relation issues, including grievances and disciplinary cases, ensuring associated risks are effectively managed
  • Advise employees and managers on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures in accordance with Bermuda legislation and the Employee Handbook
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the nuances and complexities of the Bermuda office and supportive practice areas
  • Support significant annual HR processes, such as the salary review and bonus recommendations
  • Facilitate the co-ordination and documentation for all internal and external secondments and transfers
  • Conduct weekly HR induction sessions for new joiners as required
  • Hold discussions with employees regarding parental leave, retirement arrangements, performance issues, etc., providing the relevant documentation and actions
  • Conduct employee exit interviews to gather insights into reasons for leaving and help develop a retention strategy
  • Assist in running and co-ordinating various student schemes and training programmes alongside the recruitment team
  • Continually seek process improvements and suggest changes for increased efficiency
  • Produce HR reports from the HR system as required
  • Support other members of the business partnering team during busy periods and staff absences

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in an HR Advisory role
  • Experience within a law firm or professional services environment is preferred
  • Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards this qualification
  • Highly organised with strong prioritisation and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging across all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with initiative and confidence
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
