Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Private Equity Operations team. This role is crucial to delivering superior service to a diverse clientele in the private equity space. The position is full time, with a focus on working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure that operational deliverables are met. You will be responsible for liaising with Investment Advisors and resolving complex queries, along with managing various accounting responsibilities. The successful candidate will display strong interpersonal skills while developing a comprehensive understanding of client-specific processes and requirements. This role will challenge you to apply your accounting expertise, engage in project management, and support junior team members. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving best practices within the department.
Job Duties:
- Provide outstanding client service by building robust relationships with Investment Advisors and third parties.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of clients and their bespoke requirements.
- Resolve complex client issues and queries efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to guarantee delivery on client expectations.
- Oversee key client tasks while organising team efforts to meet deadlines.
- Manage projects related to diverse and complex client tasks.
- Monitor assigned mailboxes, executing tasks from management.
- Assist in training new team members on-the-job.
- Conduct review processes on junior team members' work.
- Prepare and review complex accounts in accordance with various GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Manage bookkeeping and cash transactions accurately.
- Update and maintain investment and portfolio records for clients.
- Calculate call/distribution amounts and liaise with clients and investors.
- Assist in company secretarial duties, including preparing minutes and processing investor transfers.
- Develop knowledge for responding to ad-hoc client queries.
- Complete regular reporting for investors and ensure compliance with AIFMD and Solvency II regulations.
- Provide data and assist with tax reporting requirements.
- Facilitate proactive communication throughout deliverable processes and identify areas for improvements.
Job Requirements:
- Hold an accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred), with familiarity in UK, US, and Luxembourg GAAPs.
- Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience, especially those familiar with debt instruments, will be considered.
- Understanding of Guernsey Company, POI, and Partnership laws is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
- Confidence in engaging with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with Investran is beneficial.
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Demonstrated professional judgment in all aspects of work, along with meticulous self-review.
