Our client is seeking a proactive FSL Corporate Associate to join their Financial Services Law practice. This role offers a dynamic and varied workload, allowing the successful candidate to advise clients on corporate and commercial law, investment funds, banking, and regulatory matters. Job Duties:
- Provide support to partners and senior associates on a broad range of financial services work.
- Advise on regulatory issues and perform legal research and analysis.
- Review legal forms and documents for accuracy.
- Prepare reports and correspondence, and draft various legal documents.
- Maintain system-based filing systems and manage paperwork to ensure proper document storage.
- Take personal responsibility for achieving target hours, managing billings and debtors, and recording time consistently.
- Promote and strengthen the client’s brand while contributing to business development plans to attract more work from existing clients and develop new client relationships.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and seek ways to develop services.
- Participate in non-chargeable activities to enhance the firm’s know-how and external reputation (e.g., seminars, writing articles, presentations).
- Take responsibility for a wide range of tasks and projects as directed by lawyers and partners.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations as required.
Job Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years PQE with a Jersey/UK/Commonwealth qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial law, with strong experience in corporate law preferred.
- Knowledge of or a desire to learn about Jersey offshore law.
- Strong technical abilities and business development experience or motivation to assist with business development.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- A responsible, disciplined, and methodical approach to work is essential.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to use initiative to resolve issues independently.
- Enjoyment of collaborative teamwork in a busy environment.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for the role.
