Accounts Administrator

Our client is a leading independent offshore law firm, renowned for its commitment to high-quality work delivered by its dedicated staff. They are also part of a successful Trust and Corporate Service Provider, licensed by the Financial Services Authority to conduct various business activities. This role is not for a qualified accountant, making it an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to work part-time or during school hours, while being flexible to assist with additional hours as required, particularly for holiday or sickness cover. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing accurate and efficient financial assistance to the business. This position involves close collaboration with other departments to resolve discrepancies, ensure compliance with internal controls, and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives. Additional ad-hoc administrative and financial support may be required, providing variety and opportunities for professional growth within the role. The right person will be energetic, numerically literate, and possess experience with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

Job Duties:

  • Process day-to-day bills and supplier invoices, as well as general ledger postings.
  • Liaise with team members regarding daily tasks, including billing, payments, and invoice processing.
  • Handle data entry for financial transactions, ensuring compliance with client formatting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate application of Advocates Accounts rules and Financial Services Authority regulations concerning client money.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close down procedures.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to payments and invoices.
  • Support the Head of Finance / Senior Finance Manager in operating the accounting system.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the Head of Finance and the Senior Accounts Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant administrative experience, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • High attention to detail alongside strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and manage competing priorities effectively.
