Assistant Manager, Market Regulation

Our client is seeking to recruit an Assistant Manager within the Market Regulation department based in Guernsey. Reporting to the Manager of Market Regulation, this role involves managing the day-to-day operational activities of the team. It presents an exciting opportunity to engage with capital markets within a locally based company that has truly international ambitions, particularly in light of anticipated growth and planned expansion. The Assistant Manager will be pivotal in delivering proactive, service-focused engagement with Members of the exchange, thereby promoting compliance with its rules. Additionally, the role includes overseeing operational and process improvements, conducting risk-based market monitoring, and planning supervisory visits to Member firms. 

Job Duties:

  • Engender and deliver proactive, service-focused engagement with Members of the exchange to promote compliance.
  • Identify and implement continuous operational and process improvements enabling straight-through processing.
  • Lead market monitoring and supervision activities related to listed issuers, determining appropriate actions.
  • Plan and undertake onsite supervisory visits to Member firms, reporting findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure capacity planning for all known and predictable tasks, managing them effectively and timely.
  • Support the delivery of relevant management information and reporting for the management team and committees.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve shared goals and manage cross-functional risks.
  • Develop relationships with other regulators and agencies for information and intelligence sharing.
  • Assist in the development of Membership Rules, continuing obligations in the Listing Rules, and relevant policies.
  • Participate as an active member of the Listing and Membership Committee post-training.
  • Ensure continual personal development to remain updated with legal and regulatory matters.
  • Prepare, deliver, and attend internal and external workshops, seminars, and training courses.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as requested by the Board.
