Trainee Supervisor, RMS Investments

Our client is seeking a Trainee Supervisor to join their team in the Banking and Investment sector. This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the organisation's development, contributing to Jersey's status as a leading International Financial Centre. The role involves supervising entities in accordance with regulatory requirements, delivering effective outcomes, and supporting the broader mission of combatting financial crime. Candidates will be required to employ a risk-based approach to supervision and contribute to continuous improvements in internal processes. This position enables individuals to work alongside passionate professionals committed to upholding high regulatory standards.

Job Duties:

  • Effectively deliver and actively support the supervision of entities, aligned with a risk-based approach focused on risk mitigation.
  • Assist in utilising the risk model for identifying escalating levels of risk, with appropriate follow-up actions demonstrated.
  • Ensure activities are completed in line with agreed processes, SLAs, and KPIs for quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Maintain high-quality data entry and record-keeping systems, ensuring compliance with legal standards while enhancing insight into trends.
  • Build a strong network of internal stakeholders across Supervision and the wider organisation to ensure regulatory responsibilities are executed effectively.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvements to internal working practices and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial services and products, with an understanding of Jersey and International regulatory standards desirable.
  • A motivation for continuous learning and development, alongside a flexible approach.
  • An aptitude for teamwork.
