Junior Analyst

Our client is seeking a Junior Analyst to join the Fiduciary Investment Review team, focusing on the oversight of performance and risk pertaining to client investment portfolios across all Group Trust locations. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of internal portfolio reviews, evaluating performance against market benchmarks and peer groups. This role will also involve assisting in the management of external service providers by ensuring the prompt delivery of necessary information and documentation. Additionally, the Junior Analyst will maintain and remediate portfolio-related data within core administration systems as required. Researching client counterparty credit ratings and risk will form an integral part of the responsibilities, alongside downloading and preparing data based on the varied requirements of stakeholders. Attendance at meetings of the Fiduciary Investment Committee in diverse jurisdictions will be expected, where applicable, taking minutes as needed. The ability to liaise effectively with both internal employees and external parties regarding client investment performance and risk is crucial.

Job Duties:

  • Undertake internal portfolio reviews against market benchmarks and peer groups
  • Assist in managing external service providers through timely delivery of information and documentation
  • Maintain and remediate portfolio-related data within core administration systems
  • Conduct research on client counterparty credit ratings and associated risks
  • Download data from current business intelligence systems and prepare it according to stakeholder requirements
  • Attend meetings of the Fiduciary Investment Committee and take minutes when necessary
  • Liaise with internal employees and external parties on client investment performance and risk matters

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent IT user skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with confidence in statistical analysis application
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately with a strong attention to detail
  • Capacity to work independently on multiple concurrent projects
  • Broad interest in the investment market and portfolio management
  • Capability to efficiently sort and report data, navigating core administration systems
  • Readiness to conduct independent reviews of investment-related matters using available tools
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends, discrepancies, outliers, and gaps
  • Willingness to review corporate documents and identify relevant information for fiduciary investment operations
  • Education to degree level is preferred, though not essential; a background in mathematical, statistical, accounting, economic or business-related disciplines would be advantageous.
