Our client is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller and work closely under the guidance of the group's International CFO. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting of financial records for the group’s Channel Island entities. In addition to reporting to the CI Board, the individual will also collaborate with the wider group finance function headquartered in London. While the primary focus will be on the CI operations, the position also offers the opportunity to be involved in broader group finance initiatives and future projects. Job Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of management information reports, including management accounts, assets under management, annual budgets, and cash flow forecasting.
- Liaise with auditors and provide necessary documentation for the annual audit and preparation of financial statements.
- Conduct financial analysis of the group and support the implementation of business plans.
- Manage the raising of revenue invoices and assist in calculating quarterly account handling fees.
- Aid the Account Payable Clerk with invoice processing and payment verification.
- Prepare quarterly statistical return information for submission to the GFSC and JFSC.
- Oversee full cycle bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance in collaboration with the Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Review daily cash requirements for trading operations and assist in making necessary adjustments.
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of processes related to newly acquired businesses and integrate them into Group reporting.
- Travel to Jersey and the UK as required to visit the offices, typically on a quarterly or half-yearly basis.
- Support the Financial Controller with implementing group initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Recently qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Results-oriented with exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficient problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Sage 200, Net Suite, and Anaplan would be beneficial but is not essential.
- High level of self-motivation with excellent follow-up and tracking abilities.
- Clear communication skills, both upwards and downwards, capable of liaising confidently with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proactive attitude with the capacity to work within strict financial guidelines while employing personal initiative.
- Capability to learn new skills quickly and assimilate new information comprehensively.
- Proficient in prioritising and managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Experience in analysing and manipulating data for timely and effective information delivery.
- Demonstrates supervisory and leadership qualities.
