Our client is seeking a Trainee Trust Accountant within Client Reporting. In this role, you will support the maintenance of accounting records and the production of high-quality financial information for trust and company structures. This position involves structured learning and development, including the opportunity to study towards the ACCA qualification with tuition provided in a classroom setting with the designated training provider. The successful candidate will engage with a collaborative and multicultural environment, providing an excellent foundation to kick-start your accounting career.
Job Duties:
- Maintain high-quality, timely accounting records for trust and company structures.
- Reconcile accounting records to portfolio statements from financial institutions.
- Prepare financial statements for trust and company structures following appropriate accounting standards or relevant regulatory requirements, with guidance from Senior Trust Accountants.
- Support quarterly and annual investment monitoring processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and liaise with external client stakeholders, including advisers, bankers, lawyers, and consultants in close collaboration with Client Services.
- Participate in Client Reporting and Investment Monitoring improvement projects and implementation initiatives, including automation, system development, and standardisation.
- Assist in the management and oversight of automated data feeds from third-party custodians.
Job Requirements:
- Academic results sufficient to enter the ACCA qualification (university graduate or A-level qualifications with strong results).
- Developed IT skills; strong working knowledge of MS Excel is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to engage across all levels of seniority and work within a multicultural environment.
- A team player with a can-do attitude; client-, service- and solution-oriented.
- Experience in bookkeeping/accounting and/or exposure to private banking or the fiduciary industry is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
