The Manager – Compliance role is a full-time position based in Jersey, with responsibility for the AML/CFT/CPF function of their VASP Client Entities, where appointed as the Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) or Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). The successful candidate will assist in developing specific VASP policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This position requires working closely with senior management and key business partners, advising on compliance issues, and supporting the overall anti-financial crime functions of our client. Strong analytical skills and up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws are essential to succeed in this role.
Job Duties:
- Provide the three Key Person roles for VASP Clients Entities, as required.
- Stay updated with the Proceeds of Crime (Jersey) Law 1999, Terrorism (Jersey) Law 2002, and other relevant legislation.
- Prepare, review, advise, and update on AML/CFT/CPF Strategy and Business Risk Assessments.
- Deliver MLCO reports and statistics, and prepare documentation for quarterly governance meetings.
- Collaborate with Client Facing Teams and Senior Management on new business take-ons, providing guidance and assessments.
- Ensure the adequacy of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) documentation and maintain compliance registers.
- Liaise with third parties regarding Obliged Persons regime and coordinate related documentation.
- Assist in the management of Sanctions checks and Liaison notice checks on an ad hoc basis.
- Stay current with the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 and related operational strategies.
- Prepare and deliver compliance reports and maintain compliance monitoring programmes.
- Participate in the JFSC’s Annual Supervisory Risk Data Collection Exercise and assist in procedure manual updates.
- Contribute to relevant Board approved Committees and adhere to the vision and values of the organisation.
- Support, guide, and develop the compliance team in line with organisational frameworks.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a recognised industry professional qualification (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) focused on AML Foundations for Crypto Assets and Blockchain.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in a financial services environment, with relevant management experience.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of databases such as Unity or ViewPoint is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Corporate, Trust, and Fund Structures.
- Extensive knowledge of AML legislation applicable to the role.
- Outstanding time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
