Temporary Senior Business Analyst - 18 months

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to play a key role in a large-scale, complex core banking system transformation. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-profile project that will modernise the bank’s core platform during an 18-month temporary position. The successful candidate will work at the heart of this transformation, ensuring that solutions are well-designed, clearly defined, and deliver meaningful outcomes. The role will involve close collaboration with stakeholders across the bank to understand business needs, challenges, and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities will include the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of requirements. The Business Analyst will also act as a trusted bridge between business teams, technology teams, and delivery partners. Supporting solution design activities and testing activities will be essential, along with contributing to change management, business readiness, and go-live activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring deliverables meet governance, quality, and regulatory standards expected in a financial services environment.

Job Duties:

  • Play a central role in the delivery of a major core banking system transformation
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the bank to understand business needs, challenges, and strategic objectives
  • Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of requirements
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, structured documentation
  • Act as a trusted bridge between business teams, technology teams, and delivery partners
  • Support solution design activities and testing activities
  • Contribute to change management, business readiness, and go-live activities
  • Ensure deliverables meet governance, quality, and regulatory standards expected in a financial services environment

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within financial services
  • Strong hands-on experience with core banking systems
  • Experience working on complex system implementations or core banking change programmes
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex issues
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the bank
  • Desirable: Experience working with third-party vendors or system integrators
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation
  • Experience across multiple delivery phases (design, build, testing, implementation)
