Client Accountant, Accounting Services

They are seeking a talented Client Accountant to join their expanding Accounting Services team in Jersey, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of clients. In this role, the individual will act as a key point of contact for external auditors and will develop strong working relationships with clients and internal service lines. Key responsibilities include managing the integrity of client ledgers, preparing management accounts and annual financial statements, and reviewing bookkeeping inputs. The role requires tracking and monitoring the preparation of financial information while ensuring all work is completed in line with relevant policies and controls. A proactive attitude is essential, along with the capability to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhance service lines. Job Duties:

  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors across a portfolio of clients
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Manage the day-to-day integrity of client ledgers
  • Review bookkeeping input and prepare annual financial statements
  • Prepare routine month-end and quarter-end management accounts
  • Prepare and review audit support schedules and documentation
  • Track and monitor the preparation of financial information
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and service line development
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with relevant policies, procedures, and controls

Job Requirements:

  • Proactively take on additional responsibilities as required
  • Support junior team members when necessary
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Ideally a few years’ experience in client accounting or accounts preparation
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Knowledge of Real Estate, Private Wealth, Corporate, or Debt Capital Markets accounting environments is desirable but not essential
