Temporary Buyers Assistant (6 months)

Our client is seeking a passionate individual to join their Womenswear team as a Buyers Assistant. This temporary position is based at their Head Office in Guernsey and will last for six months, offering a part-time role with 12 hours of work per week. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to take their first step into the fashion industry, whether they are recent graduates, college leavers, or those ready to embark on their career journey. The fashion team at this client designs and sources an exclusive range of collections, providing hands-on experience throughout the complete buying process. Responsibilities will include trend research, supplier communication, range building, and product development. The suitable candidate will receive full training and support, equipping them with the necessary skills for growth in this field.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting the Buyer to keep everything on track – from product development to delivery
  • Helping to prepare and manage samples for meetings and fittings
  • Communicating with suppliers to send tech packs, approve trims, and manage orders
  • Taking part in product fit sessions and ensuring everything is prepared beforehand
  • Learning how to build ranges and analyse sales performance
  • Supporting with product packaging and labelling checks
  • Dealing with store queries and providing friendly, accurate information
  • Developing an understanding of the retail calendar and seasonal launches
  • Keeping up with fashion trends and competitors to share innovative ideas
