Insurance Broker

Our client is seeking an Insurance Broker to support their goal of delivering sustainable and profitable growth. The successful candidate will identify the insurance needs of clients through active prospecting, providing exceptional broking advice, and servicing suitable products from a range of insurers. The role focuses on establishing long-term relationships with clients while delivering excellent customer service. The Insurance Broker will also have the authority to underwrite business in line with underwriting protocols, thereby ensuring alignment with the financial objectives of both the company and its insurance suppliers. Collaboration with other departments and the internal underwriting team is key to this role. The position entails full-time hours with a commitment to continuous personal development and improvement in service standards.

Job Duties:

  • Select, sell, and service general insurance products to meet the long-term needs of personal and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with underwriters and approved insurers to secure appropriate cover and terms promptly for clients.
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and skills to deliver a five-star client experience, adhering to the standards set by our client, suppliers, and regulators.
  • Review and evaluate risks in line with underwriting authority limits, proposing and negotiating terms as necessary.
  • Train, develop, and coach less experienced colleagues to uphold service quality standards.
  • Foster effective relationships with peers, other departments, and external suppliers to align departmental objectives.
  • Participate in short-term projects and activities as directed by the team leadership.

Job Requirements:

  • Entry-level CII Professional qualification or willingness to pursue required training for a career in the insurance industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Experience in a busy, customer-focused environment, either face-to-face or via telephone.
  • Previous sales experience and achievement in a target-driven setting is desirable.
