Client Accountant

Job Duties:

  • Preparation of financial statements for trusts, companies, and corporate structures in line with applicable reporting standards such as FRS 102 and IFRS.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Preparation of UK VAT Returns.
  • Development of ad-hoc reports, including loan interest schedules, investor summaries, and cash flow analysis.
  • Liaising with auditors in a timely manner.
  • Responding to queries raised by accounts reviewers.
  • Assisting the team with audited accounts.

Job Requirements:

  • Nearly or newly fully qualified professional accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the trust industry.
  • Experience with private wealth and corporate client structures.
  • Capability to produce accounts for a variety of trading and investment companies or trusts.
  • Basic knowledge of VAT, UK taxation for companies and trusts, and Jersey taxation.
  • Basic understanding of Jersey trust law and practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with the firm’s bookkeeping procedures manual and the ability to guide others in its implementation.
  • Competence in analysing, posting, and reconciling third-party valuations and statements.
  • Ability to reconcile ledgers with VAT returns and statements from tax authorities.
  • Proficient working knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
