Specialist, Financial Crime Compliance Officer

Our client is seeking a Specialist, Financial Crime Compliance Officer to support the implementation of the Isle of Man Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Policies and Standards. The successful candidate will also assist in the execution of the Group Financial Crime Compliance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Offshore Strategy. This role involves providing expert guidance and advice related to Financial Crime Compliance while identifying and addressing specific awareness and training needs. The position is crucial to ensure that the Isle of Man Branch adheres to statutory requirements, thereby avoiding operational losses, fines, penalties, or reputational damage. Applicants should possess experience in compliance within the banking or financial industry and have a strong understanding of FCC frameworks. This is a full-time role based in the Isle of Man.

Job Duties:

  • Advise on the collection, capturing, and maintenance of data to ensure reliability and facilitate informed business decisions.
  • Build, develop, and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders relevant to the functional area or area of specialisation.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the AML/CFT technology plan in alignment with the Group Compliance Function's objectives and the Group IT plan.
  • Provide domain expertise to develop pertinent technological requirements and ensure adherence to relevant technology standards set by the IT Function.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a reporting system that ensures efficient, high-quality, and consistent reporting to relevant committees, forums, and regulators.
  • Support the line manager in preparing high-quality reports for the relevant Boards, Executive Management, Audit Committees, the Regulator, and other pertinent forums.

Job Requirements:

  • First Degree in Risk Management or a related field.
  • 3 to 4 years’ experience in Compliance within the financial services sector, specifically in Financial Crime Compliance.
  • Strong understanding of FCC frameworks, risk assessments, and a risk-based approach to compliance.
  • Experience in strategic planning and operationalisation related to banking products, processes, systems, and data.
  • Proven ability to influence employees at all levels across multiple countries and business areas to effectively implement compliance frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment and its impact on the banking and financial sectors.
