Our client is seeking an experienced People Operations Partner to play a pivotal role in facilitating the growth, performance, and regulatory compliance of the organisation. This full-time, permanent position is based in either Guernsey or Jersey, with required travel between locations. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of efficient, high-quality people operations, robust governance, and data-led insights across the organisation. The ideal candidate will excel in operational excellence, change leadership, and transforming people data into actionable business insights.
Job Duties:
- Own and continuously improve end-to-end people operational processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant delivery of core people services, including contracts, lifecycle documentation, payroll checks, and policy administration.
- Provide oversight of employee lifecycle activities and serve as an escalation point for complex operational cases.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance cycle times.
- Manage People Services systems and tools, ensuring data integrity, strong adoption, and appropriate automation.
- Provide expert guidance on workforce planning, role definitions, and team structures in alignment with organisational strategy and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with senior leaders to design and maintain effective organisational structures.
- Lead reviews of organisational effectiveness, assessing spans of control, role clarity, capacity, and ways of working.
- Support restructures, integrations, and change initiatives, managing execution and associated people risks.
- Translate the performance framework into clear, practical, and consistently applied processes, ensuring effective communication of the performance management lifecycle.
- Work closely with Learning & Development to enhance line manager capability in performance management practices.
- Support the design and delivery of engagement and organisational effectiveness diagnostics, analysing feedback and engagement data to provide actionable insights.
- Own the quality of People Services data and reporting throughout the employee lifecycle, producing decision-ready insights for senior management, including workforce trends, attrition, absence, productivity, diversity, and regulatory metrics.
- Maintain robust people governance, controls, audit trails, and documentation standards, leading audits, regulatory reviews, and internal assurance activities.
- Assist People Business Partners with complex employee relations matters, applying sound judgement, fairness, and commercial awareness.
- Manage People suppliers and vendors effectively to ensure the delivery of quality services and value.
- Collaborate closely with People Business Partners and senior stakeholders to ensure a credible and results-oriented People function, developing aligned plans that support the overarching People Strategy and business objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in Human Resources.
- CIPD Level 3 or higher (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience within a People Services or People Operations function.
- Strong project management experience with proven ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering operational excellence and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong change and project leadership skills.
- Experience in resource and budget management.
- Sound knowledge of generalist HR practices and people strategy development.
- Experience in building effective relationships and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in leading and developing teams.
