Adviser, Innovation Hub

The role of Adviser in the Innovation Hub is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. The individual in this role will report to the Senior Manager of the Innovation Hub and will play an essential part in engaging with innovative firms and key stakeholders, including government officials and industry bodies, to enhance Jersey's innovation proposition. Responsibilities include supporting the design and operation of a regulatory sandbox-style mechanism, coordinating industry events, and producing high-quality horizon scanning and briefing documents for senior leadership. The position necessitates regular collaboration with Policy and Supervision teams to ensure cohesive delivery of regulatory changes. The Adviser will contribute to building robust relationships within the innovation sector, providing clear communication pathways for innovative business models, and fostering a forward-thinking environment within the financial services industry. A proactive attitude, good judgement, and readiness to assist colleagues in the Policy team will be crucial for success in this role.

Job Duties:

  • Support engagement with innovative firms and industry stakeholders to strengthen the external innovation proposition.
  • Develop and coordinate a ‘lite’ regulatory sandbox-style/concierge pathway for innovative business models.
  • Plan and deliver industry convening and engagement activities, including workshops, training sessions, and policy sprints.
  • Produce structured horizon scans, insight notes, and briefings on emerging technologies and market trends such as AI and payment innovation.
  • Collaborate with Policy and Supervision teams to implement changes to regulatory content and supervisory methods.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience or a strong interest in innovation within financial services, regulatory engagement, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work externally with firms and partners while translating complex regulatory concepts into concise guidance.
  • Strong drafting, briefing, and facilitation skills, particularly in workshops and working groups.
  • Good judgement and a pragmatic approach to risk in a regulatory context.
