Analyst, Financial Crime

This role involves ensuring high-quality financial crime supervision across a variety of businesses, including banks, investment firms, and law firms, among others. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating financial crime risks, focusing on firms that present a higher risk of money laundering and terrorist financing. The successful candidate will undertake on-site assessments, engage with firm representatives, and review documentation to compile detailed reports on findings. In addition to on-site work, the role encompasses off-site supervision, which includes policy development, thematic reviews, and data analysis. The Analyst will also play a part in liaising with stakeholders and contributing to the enhancement of the jurisdiction's reputation in the international financial sector. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills in regulatory oversight and financial crime prevention and will support the pursuit of relevant training and professional qualifications.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation within the jurisdiction.
  • Assist in enhancing the international reputation of the financial services sector.
  • Contribute to risk-based supervision, policy creation, and oversight.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with licensees.
  • Handle applications for licences and enquiries regarding the Handbook on Countering Financial Crime.
  • Plan and participate in on-site visits and thematic reviews; conduct research on key issues.
  • Review files and assess risks while accurately taking minutes during meetings.
  • Undertake sectorial analyses to analyse ML/FT/PF risk trends.
  • Attend on-site firm visits; lead interviews and prepare thematic reports.
  • Produce clear, concise written work that serves as a reliable record for the organisation.
  • Collaborate on projects such as statistical exercises or procedure reviews.
  • Train new staff and contribute to a culture of professional excellence.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a financial services or related environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Ability to handle inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory laws, rules, codes, and guidance related to financial crime.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high standards of work.
  • Capable of managing personal workload and priorities effectively.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility for professional development.
