Accountant

This role involves joining a dynamic team in a growing organisation. The Accountant will manage all audits, ensuring that audit proposals are requested, timelines are adhered to, and queries are promptly addressed. It is essential to understand the deadlines surrounding Annual Financial Statements, whether they are regulatory or client-specific, preparing these statements in accordance with IFRS, including necessary reconciliations and adjustments. The individual will also be responsible for preparing management accounts and maintaining core financial records such as general ledgers and bank reconciliations. Additionally, this role requires loading client payments in accordance with their cash control policies and fostering effective working relationships with both internal teams and external partners. The Accountant will liaise with auditors, advisers, and third-party administrators, addressing day-to-day requests from clients and management as required.

Job Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of audits, including proposals, timelines, and queries
  • Understand and manage deadlines for Annual Financial Statements
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Maintain core financial records, including general ledgers and trial balances
  • Prepare and load client payments per relevant cash control policies
  • Build effective relationships with clients and external parties
  • Interpret documentation relevant to Management Accounts and Annual Financial Statements
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests from clients and management
  • Liaise with external parties, including auditors and third-party administrators

Job Requirements:

  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACA)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Sage (beneficial but not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills for audit processes
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to teamwork and professional growth
  • Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills
