Manager, Fund Accounting

This role presents an opportunity for a driven and talented individual to make a significant impact as part of a dedicated and professional growing team. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of accounting matters, delivering services for both new and established real estate and private equity clients. The position demands familiarity with the organisation's policies and procedures, along with the ability to identify necessary efficiencies and implement required changes. Candidates will need to demonstrate technical knowledge regarding fund structure mechanics and processes, serving as the primary point of contact for complex requests. Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and external parties is essential, as well as ensuring team deadlines and key performance indicators are consistently met. Responsibilities include quality control of the team’s workload, proper management of client portfolios, and oversight of invoices and fees. Additionally, the role requires line management of junior team members, effective delegation, and collaboration with senior leadership to facilitate the onboarding of new business.

Job Duties:

  • Become acquainted with company policies and procedures, identify needed efficiencies, and implement changes.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of fund structure mechanics and serve as the first point of contact for complicated requests.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, proactively managing expectations and turnaround times.
  • Ensure the team meets deadlines and key performance indicators, acting as a key reviewer for quality control.
  • Manage administration agreements for clients, ensuring timely invoicing and settlement.
  • Foster a cohesive culture across teams within the business.
  • Line manage junior team members, providing coaching and support.
  • Set and measure objectives as part of the annual performance cycle.
  • Oversee client mailboxes and junior workloads, effectively delegating priority tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure seamless onboarding of new business.
  • Review and authorise treasury functions within established sign-off levels.
  • Compile, analyse, and review financial information for financial statements.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements and investor reporting.
  • Plan and manage year-end audits, liaising with external auditors and clients.
  • Ensure all regulatory and statutory deadlines and filings are achieved.
  • Assist or lead projects, ensuring timely completion and delivery of training.
  • Perform any other tasks or ad-hoc duties as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, UK GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to solve practical problems.
  • Experience in managing, supervising, or coaching staff.
