Head of AEOI

This role requires a dynamic individual to drive compliance with global tax reporting obligations, specifically focusing on FATCA and CRS within the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) framework. The position is based in the Isle of Man and reports to the Head of IOM SSC. Duties will include leading the end-to-end AEOI reporting process, answering technical inquiries from the group, and implementing technology solutions to enhance reporting efficiency. The Head of AEOI will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and data validation, ensuring the accuracy of submissions to tax authorities. This position involves collaboration with various internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate accurate data collection and compliance. Additionally, the individual will oversee training and development efforts to keep the team updated on evolving regulations. The successful candidate will be expected to identify and mitigate risks associated with AEOI reporting while fostering an inclusive team culture.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure that AEOI policies and procedures comply with local and international regulations.
  • Oversee data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation checks to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare reports, certifications, and other documentation for AEOI compliance.
  • Lead and manage the annual AEOI reporting process for FATCA and CRS, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to tax authorities.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for tax and AEOI-related queries, providing guidance on complex reporting obligations.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and auditors.
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure accurate client data collection and reporting.
  • Work with local business units to drive data quality and respond to ad-hoc inquiries.
  • Work closely with technology teams to automate and streamline the AEOI reporting process.
  • Lead the development and implementation of reporting technology solutions to align with global tax regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct gap analyses and define system requirements for automation and data integration.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions on AEOI obligations and best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with AEOI reporting, ensuring robust internal controls for the reporting process.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Law, or a related field; Advanced Degree or Professional certification is preferable.
  • Proven track record in senior roles within the fiduciary services industry.
  • Over 5 years of experience in AEOI reporting, FATCA/CRS compliance, and tax-related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of AEOI, FATCA, CRS, and global tax reporting frameworks.
  • Experience in managing technology-driven reporting processes, including tax reporting software and automation tools.
  • Proficient in data analytics, manipulation, and validation using Excel, SQL, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems and standards.
