The Retail Marketing Manager will be an integral part of the Sales & Marketing team, responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering local marketing activities across the retail estate. This hands-on role spans the Guernsey shop and UK retail stores and requires exceptional organisational skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities across different locations. The successful candidate will own the annual marketing plan for the Guernsey shop, managing local promotions, campaign coordination, and performance reporting. Collaboration with the shop manager and internal teams will ensure that all activities are effectively delivered, reviewed, and improved upon continuously. For the UK retail stores, the Retail Marketing Manager will be pivotal in coordinating local launch plans, managing marketing activities tailored to specific stores, overseeing community marketing initiatives, and providing store teams with essential information and materials. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are crucial, as the role involves liaising with various stakeholders across marketing, design, customer relationship management, and retail operations. The position is based in Guernsey, with regular travel to the UK required to support store launches and activations, agency meetings, and campaign planning.
Job Duties:
- Own the development and delivery of the Guernsey shop marketing plan to achieve budgeted growth.
- Liaise with the Guernsey shop manager to implement promotional and marketing campaigns.
- Work with internal teams to facilitate locally targeted marketing activities.
- Coordinate local media efforts, negotiating favourable terms and placements with media partners.
- Support local social media initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall marketing plan.
- Create local marketing plans for UK retail stores.
- Manage store-specific marketing activities, including local print, digital, social, PR, and in-store promotional materials.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Director and project stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of local marketing activities that meet required standards.
- Plan and execute launch promotions and customer engagement activities.
- Coordinate marketing requirements for new store openings, including timelines and asset approvals.
- Act as a primary marketing point of contact for store managers, relaying clear and timely campaign information.
- Translate central marketing strategies into practical actions for store teams.
- Gather feedback from store teams on customer responses and campaign executions.
- Maintain trackers and logs to ensure smooth delivery across multiple locations.
- Represent retail and local marketing priorities in overarching campaign planning.
- Support retail stores during seasonal campaigns and product launches.
- Identify opportunities for local partnerships and community engagement.
- Track and report on retail marketing activity effectiveness and provide insights for improvement.
- Manage local marketing budgets and expenditures efficiently.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in a marketing role with comprehensive ownership of marketing campaigns or plans, preferably in retail, FMCG, hospitality, or similar sectors.
- Demonstrated success in delivering local marketing initiatives that have significantly impacted commercial performance.
- Experience across diverse marketing channels, including print, digital, social, email, and in-store marketing.
- Strong commercial and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret sales reports and campaign data effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage competing workstreams and stakeholder expectations.
