Senior Manager, Fund Accounting

This role requires an experienced individual to oversee fund accounting within a dynamic environment in Saint Peter Port, Guernsey. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate bookkeeping for all fund and corporate structures, delivering financial statements and various reports within regulatory timescales, and optimising the technology platform for improved efficiency and quality of output. The successful candidate will manage queries from colleagues, clients, and auditors, assist in the development of bookkeeping policies and procedures, and establish new structures aligned with streamlined processes. Exceptional service provision and maintenance of client and advisor relationships are paramount while also mentoring junior staff. This position may offer opportunities for business development and building a strong external reputation within the industry.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure up to date and accurate bookkeeping of all fund and corporate structures.
  • Deliver financial statements and specialised reporting within client and regulatory timelines.
  • Assist the team in optimising the technology platform for process efficiency and quality.
  • Provide proactive query management and resolution for colleagues, clients, and auditors.
  • Maintain and develop accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure service excellence.
  • Assist with the establishment of new structures and transitioning of business.
  • Provide exceptional service levels throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Maintain and develop client and advisor relationships, demonstrating extensive knowledge.
  • Mentor junior staff under senior supervision.
  • Allocate work to junior team members.
  • Co-ordinate all accounting matters for clients, including reporting and meeting attendance.
  • Process routine and complex fund accounting operations accurately.
  • Adhere to company policies, accounting standards, and regulations while providing constructive challenges where necessary.
  • Act as a B signatory for payment approvals.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities, which may include travel.
  • Identify and secure follow-on revenue opportunities with senior team collaboration.
  • Promote personal and organisational profiles in the industry through various channels.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of quality client service requirements.
  • Established senior manager seeking career progression.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a funds environment with expertise in accounts preparation.
  • Up to date knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Culture of excellence and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Deadline-oriented with collaborative and flexible working skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Sound technical financial services knowledge, including awareness of regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to motivate and enable team members to complete tasks independently.
  • ACCA / ACA qualified.
