Contract Senior Officer, Business Risk Management - 12 months

This role involves monitoring and reviewing all new account applications across offshore business units, ensuring compliance with regulatory, internal, and group requirements. The successful candidate will oversight the review process for 'standard and medium risk' rated accounts, contributing significantly to a positive client experience. This is a full-time position for a duration of 12 months. Key responsibilities include providing quality assurance, conducting investigations, and submitting detailed reports on associated risks, while ensuring that all actions adhere to established standards and frameworks. Additionally, this role requires the validation of clients' source of funds as per compliance guidelines and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Continuous professional development will be encouraged, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory amendments.

Job Duties:

  • Provide quality assurance and independent oversight on key processes or controls
  • Conduct investigations, data gathering, analysis, and in-depth reporting on risks
  • Escalate high-risk issues to management for timely resolution
  • Identify, measure, prioritise, and respond to all types of risk
  • Review information on potential clients and resolve deficiencies
  • Validate source of funds/wealth in compliance with guidelines
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the business risk management environment
  • Participate in relevant training to keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices in business risk management
  • Contribute to high-quality reporting for relevant boards and committees
  • Gather information to facilitate effective risk-based decision making

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma in Risk Management, AML, Financial Crime, or related field (required)
  • 3-4 years of experience in risk, governance, onboarding, or compliance management
  • Detailed understanding of regulatory requirements in the financial services industry
  • Meticulous attention to detail in checking and maintaining quality standards
  • Openness to learning and developing expertise in the field
  • Ethical behaviour and discretion in handling confidential matters
  • Strong team working and collaborative decision-making skills
  • Proficient in evaluating risk management effectiveness and good governance
  • Ability to implement quality control measures and enhance operational techniques
