CDD Analyst

The CDD Analyst role involves reviewing and assessing client CDD documentation submitted as part of new business applications, periodic reviews, and trigger events. This is essential to ensure that the firm’s CDD obligations are met in full accordance with relevant laws and regulations related to client due diligence and financial crime. The position operates within an international jurisdiction and requires adherence to established turnaround times. The analyst will be responsible for undertaking thorough risk assessments for client relationships, performing electronic verifications, and assisting in maintaining the operational efficiency of the CDD team. The role may also require involvement in remediation projects and staying updated on process changes, particularly in relation to system functionalities. A strong emphasis is placed on compliance, attention to detail, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Duties:

  • Review CDD documentation for new accounts to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Review CDD documentation for periodic reviews and trigger events, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for all client relationships to manage and mitigate financial crime risks.
  • Undertake electronic verification on individuals and entities to identify possible PEPs and other risk indicators.
  • Assist in reviewing payment activities, requesting additional CDD documentation, and approving or rejecting requests as necessary.
  • Maintain the organisation of the CDD Team’s email box and Avaloq order books.
  • Support remediation projects as required.
  • Ensure standard procedures are followed and checklists are completed, including appropriate notes for discussions or deviations.
  • Keep updated with process changes, particularly in Avaloq functionality.
  • Take ownership of allocated procedures, ensuring updates are conducted when processes change.
  • Conduct screening activities to ensure compliance with local and international sanctions and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within CDD or a similar role in a financial environment is preferable.
  • Good understanding of CDD and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn quickly and gain a solid working knowledge of relevant systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory handbooks relevant to the CDD landscape.
  • Keep abreast of CDD regulatory changes and apply these changes effectively.
  • Understanding and application of regulations across various jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, enabling effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to assess risks and make risk-based decisions on a commercial basis.
  • A strong eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Consistently uphold high ethical standards, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and fairness to enhance the reputation of the firm.
