Financial Assistants

This position involves two full-time Financial Assistants who will play a vital role within the finance team, supporting the Head of Finance with a range of duties. The role is based in the Isle of Man, and requires a commitment of 37 hours per week. The successful candidates will be instrumental in the coordination and collation of management accounts, assisting with the budget and forecast processes, and ensuring financial reporting is conducted accurately and in a timely manner. Responsibilities will include producing monthly profit and loss accounts for specific products, preparing month-end journals, and providing variance analysis and commentaries on management accounts. Interaction with various teams will be essential to resolve any accounting issues that arise, and the role will involve the preparation and maintenance of process documentation to support improvements in financial controls.

Job Duties:

  • Support and assist the Head of Finance in management account preparations.
  • Produce monthly financial reports and ad hoc requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of profit and loss accounts for products.
  • Prepare month-end transaction-based journals.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide commentaries on key financial data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met and accounting issues are resolved.
  • Develop and manage internal reporting summaries within agreed timescales.
  • Address internal reporting queries effectively.
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Drive change for process improvements in documentation and controls.
  • Support billing processes and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar financial role.
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • High attention to detail and effective teamwork skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with IOT/RoamingIT/Managed Services/Data Centres & connectivity.
  • Studying finalist for ACA/ACCA/CIMA, or newly qualified/QBE.
