Learning & Development Officer

The role of Learning & Development Officer is a full-time position, consisting of 39 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of the Learning and Development Strategy. This includes reviewing the progress of new colleagues through the 13-week induction programme, as well as providing ongoing training support for managers to enhance their ability to deliver induction training to staff. The Officer will identify training and development needs within the organisation by consulting regularly with business partners, stakeholders, and the HR Business Manager. Additionally, the role involves designing and expanding training programmes tailored to the needs of both the organisation and its individuals, producing training materials for in-house courses, and managing the delivery and evaluation of training initiatives. Effective collaboration with stakeholders from various teams, such as marketing, finance, and IT, will be required to ensure training programmes meet organisational needs. The Officer will also oversee training administration duties while ensuring legal compliance and data protection regulations are followed.

Job Duties:

  • Support the delivery of the Learning and Development Strategy.
  • Review new colleagues' progress through the induction programme.
  • Consult with managers and stakeholders to identify training and development needs.
  • Design and expand relevant training programmes.
  • Produce training material for in-house courses.
  • Manage the delivery of training and development initiatives.
  • Evaluate training programmes and provide feedback.
  • Assist line managers and trainers in addressing specific training challenges.
  • Organise and prioritise tasks in line with departmental needs.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and records.
  • Coordinate training schedules with managers and external providers.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external training providers.

Job Requirements:

  • CIPD Learning & Development Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to embody the organisation's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A solid customer-focused background.
  • Teamworking skills with a collaborative approach to learning.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities to meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in relevant computer applications.
  • Demonstrate a positive and committed attitude.
