Senior Manager, Policy

The role of Senior Manager, Policy is a dynamic position that requires a flexible and proactive approach to regulation within the financial services industry. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that Jersey remains a competitive International Financial Centre through the delivery of a clear and effective regulatory toolkit that meets international standards, such as the FATF Recommendations. This position will involve monitoring developments within international financial crime standards and proposing enhancements to regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and processes. Collaboration with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will be key to improving legislative clarity and understanding, ultimately enhancing business integrity. The candidate will also lead and support a team of capable Policy Advisers to ensure effective policy delivery. This opportunity is particularly exciting as it plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation's mission and navigating an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure effective regulation of Jersey and maintain its competitive stance as an International Financial Centre.
  • Develop and deliver a regulatory toolkit that aligns with international standards.
  • Monitor and propose enhancements to international financial crime standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding of legislation.
  • Contribute to the reputation of the organisation as a high-performing regulator.
  • Manage and develop a team of Policy Advisers to ensure effective policy delivery.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong background in financial services with knowledge of Jersey’s financial crime legal and regulatory framework.
  • In-depth practical knowledge of Jersey’s legal structures and product offerings.
  • Ability to apply good judgement and commercial understanding in policy development.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with senior representatives.
  • Strong people management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Resilience and a positive approach to managing competing priorities and change.
