Relationship Manager

This role is a full-time position based in Guernsey, designed to complement the Financial Intermediary Team and enhance its proposition through a collaborative approach. The primary responsibilities involve developing and strengthening relationships within the Trust and Corporate Service Provider market, alongside managing the client base's risk management activities. The individual will strategically develop relationships and business opportunities with Guernsey Financial Intermediaries while ensuring exceptional service delivery aligned with the organisation's strategy and risk appetite. Furthermore, the role requires compliance with internal policies, regulations, and risk management processes. Personal targets include contributing to P&L by boosting existing client relationships and identifying new income opportunities, covering areas such as lending, deposits, and wealth management. Collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with AML/CFT procedures and delivering remarkable service to clients are also key components of this position.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and enhance relationships with Financial Intermediaries.
  • Create client contact strategies to meet personal targets and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management policies for the client portfolio.
  • Understand and follow the legal and regulatory environment relevant to the role.
  • Self-initiate and manage relationships with existing and new intermediary clients.
  • Assess financial performance and address any issues timely.
  • Collaborate with the New Business and Risk and Compliance teams for account opening and risk assessment.
  • Maintain the highest standards of client service.
  • Support the team's client entertainment programme.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong evaluation skills to understand client needs and create tailored solutions.
  • Proven interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and personal organisation.
  • Experience in sales, business development, and relationship management.
  • Good understanding of treasury, capital markets, and lending.
  • Knowledge of investment markets including bonds, equities, and structured solutions.
  • Experience in managing regulatory risk within a financial institution.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and goal-oriented.
  • Familiarity with account opening processes and banking product suite.
