Senior AEOI Support Assistant Manager

This role involves providing pivotal support within the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) Team. The successful individual will ensure compliance with global tax reporting obligations, specifically concentrating on FATCA and CRS frameworks. This position may entail assisting with various duties related to the end-to-end AEOI reporting process and addressing technical inquiries from stakeholders. Additionally, the individual will engage in the implementation of reporting solutions and technology automation initiatives to promote operational efficiency. The role requires a mixture of compliance knowledge, project management acumen, and hands-on technology experience within the financial services industry. The opportunity is full-time and situated in the Isle of Man.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure AEOI policies and procedures align with local and international regulations.
  • Assist with data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation checks to guarantee accurate reporting.
  • Prepare reports, certifications, and documentation necessary for AEOI compliance.
  • Support the annual AEOI reporting process for FATCA and CRS, ensuring timely submissions to tax authorities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of global AEOI regulations applicable to fiduciary services.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for AEOI queries, offering guidance on complex reporting obligations.
  • Liaise between internal teams, such as Compliance and Legal, and external stakeholders, including clients and tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure accurate data collection for reporting.
  • Respond to ad-hoc inquiries regarding AEOI regulations and reporting.
  • Assist technology teams in streamlining the AEOI reporting process, focusing on improvements.
  • Support the development of reporting technology solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct gap analyses and define requirements for automation and data integration.
  • Implement data automation tools for efficient reporting and data management.
  • Monitor emerging technologies that may enhance AEOI reporting functions.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for internal stakeholders on AEOI obligations.
  • Stay updated on evolving AEOI regulations to facilitate continuous learning within the team.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with AEOI reporting, ensuring robust internal controls.
  • Regularly review reporting procedures and update them based on regulatory changes.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Law, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • Proven experience within the fiduciary services industry, with a minimum of three years in AEOI reporting or tax-related roles.
  • Familiarity with technology-driven reporting processes and global tax regulations, especially in fiduciary contexts.
  • Knowledge of AEOI, FATCA, CRS, and other tax reporting frameworks.
  • Experience using tax reporting software and automation tools, including XML Schema and reporting platforms.
  • Strong data manipulation and validation skills using Excel or equivalent tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, explaining complex technical details simply.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
