HR Administrator

Our client is seeking a dedicated HR Officer/Manager to oversee human resources responsibilities and activities. This full-time position is based in Jersey and aims to enhance lives by providing independence and choice for disabled individuals. The role involves managing recruitment processes, employee relations, regulatory compliance, health and safety, and training and development. The HR Officer/Manager will focus on ensuring legal compliance in human resources and health and safety, liaising with the Jersey Care Commission to uphold relevant standards and regulations. You will be instrumental in supporting HR initiatives, maintaining accurate employee records, and facilitating colleague training and development.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure legal compliance in all areas relating to human resources and health and safety, and Jersey Care Commission requirements, supporting the Home to meet all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
  • Update and develop required policies and procedures.
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting adverts, conducting interviews, making job offers, reference checking, and managing the hiring process.
  • Assist the CEO with succession planning and business continuity planning.
  • Conduct required disciplinary or grievance investigations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records.
  • Support colleague training and development.
  • Coordinate and support colleague appraisals and reviews, such as return-to-work interviews, exit interviews, or conflict resolution.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the business, living our values and mission.
  • Maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Support and coordinate Jersey Care Commission inspections, audits, and reporting requirements, ensuring that HR records, policies, procedures, and employment practices meet regulatory standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as an HR Officer, administrator, or in another HR position.
  • Completed CIPD Level 3 qualification.
  • Knowledge of HR functions, including pay and benefits, recruitment, training, and development.
  • Understanding of employment and health and safety laws and disciplinary procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
  • Strong ethics and reliability.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
