The role of Head of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the multi-jurisdictional business. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Group COO. The successful candidate will own the Group Operating Model, working across various jurisdictions to align operational processes, procedures, controls, and service standards, maintaining efficiency and scalability. Key duties include acting as a central point for leadership concerning operational issues, identifying inefficiencies, and enhancing processes through continuous improvement initiatives. Close collaboration with IT and Transformation teams is essential for managing system changes, process redesign, and implementing transformation initiatives effectively. The Head of Operations will work closely with Operations Directors in each region, facilitating a cohesive operational community and ensuring alignment with Finance, Risk, and Compliance for operational metrics and quality. The role requires a strong data analytics capability, with proactive engagement in exploring AI to optimise operational processes and decision-making.
Job Duties:
- Document and maintain the Group Operating Model, ensuring clear definitions of operational activities.
- Establish a framework for operational governance, including process ownership and decision rights.
- Lead efforts to align operational processes across jurisdictions, enhancing efficiency and service quality.
- Identify and prioritise opportunities for simplification, standardisation, and automation.
- Act as a senior escalation point for operational issues, coordinating resolution across jurisdictions.
- Partner with IT and Transformation on operational change, ensuring local adoption is effectively managed.
- Define and monitor key operational metrics, producing insightful reporting for leadership decisions.
- Coordinate the implementation of operational policies and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Own the Group’s Business Continuity Planning framework, ensuring it is well documented and tested.
- Support the Functional Design Authority with operational insights and contribute to organisational design.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in operations leadership or business management within a multi-site organisation.
- Strong understanding of operational processes in regulated environments, particularly in financial services.
- Proven track record of documenting and improving end-to-end operational processes.
- Experience collaborating with technology teams on system configurations and operational change.
- Strong analytical skills capable of interpreting operational metrics and providing actionable insights.
- Engaged with AI developments, able to leverage technologies for operational improvements.
- Excellent programme and project management skills to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Credible stakeholder manager with the ability to influence senior leaders effectively.
- Strong communication skills for producing executive updates and procedural documentation.
- Experience in trust, corporate, fiduciary, or regulated services environments is advantageous.
