Manager, Financial Control

This role involves overseeing the financial performance and control functions, ensuring compliance with regulations while providing insightful financial analysis. The Manager, Financial Control will manage both month-end and year-end close processes, guaranteeing the accuracy and timeliness of financial outputs. Key responsibilities include preparing statutory financial statements, coordinating audit activities, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. The successful candidate will foster relationships with Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders to support decision-making processes and business performance reviews. This position is permanent, with a contracted working week of 37.5 hours.

Job Duties:

• Manage the delivery of month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate audit activities.
• Maintain ownership of balance sheet governance and ensure reconciliations are completed accurately.
• Support regulatory reporting obligations through timely submissions.
• Deliver insightful management reporting for Finance leadership and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to align reporting outputs with financial control.
• Oversee finance operations, ensuring documentation and control standards are met.
• Identify and implement improvements in financial controls and reporting quality.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Fully qualified accountant with a recognised UK professional designation.
• Minimum of 5 years of finance experience, including financial control and management reporting.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Proven experience in coordinating audits and managing balance sheet controls.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to operate in a regulated or professional services environment.
