Trainee Accountant, Global Accounting

Our client is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join their collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. This full-time position is based in Guernsey and offers an excellent opportunity to launch your accounting career. You will work alongside experts in Accounting, Tax, Corporate Governance, and Legal Services, delivering integrated solutions to a prestigious international client base. The role provides exposure to a variety of structures, transactions, and industries, establishing a solid foundation for a career in professional services. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with leading investment houses, supporting structures that manage significant UK real estate assets. JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in the client's accounting software.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports and net asset valuations.
  • Develop a good understanding of the transactions you are dealing with and liaise with your line manager as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed.
  • Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and address any queries efficiently.
  • Familiarise yourself with and consistently adhere to the firm’s policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a certificate or permit to work in Guernsey.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exhibit a desire to learn and develop your own career path.
  • Show high levels of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
  • Maintain a positive and flexible approach to tasks.
  • Possess an aptitude for data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise tasks, time, and people to meet deadlines.
  • Show effective interpersonal skills and a pro-active, service-oriented approach.
