Finance Administrator

Our client is seeking a full-time Finance Administrator to join their team in the Isle of Man. This hands-on role is essential for managing the accounting strategies and cash operations across various regions, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations. You will be actively involved in the monthly vessel close process and will collaborate closely with the Operations and Trading departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. The Finance Administrator is expected to take ownership of tasks, demonstrating diligent problem-solving skills and effective communication. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those who are meticulous and proactive in managing financial processes.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage and support the monthly vessel close process across core trading strategies, including income and cost analysis, foreign exchange, and derivatives review.
  • Perform month-end inventory identification and reconciliation to ensure precise financial reporting.
  • Conduct margin share analysis and adjustments resulting from trade closures and portfolio clean-ups.
  • Review balance sheet and derivatives positions to confirm accurate strategy allocation and reporting.
  • Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and office invoices, ensuring accurate coding and authorisation.
  • Support trade and office payment processing, maintaining banking system records effectively.
  • Coordinate foreign exchange transactions to support trading and regional office operations, monitoring receipts and adjusting forecasts as necessary.
  • Monitor debtor positions, liaising with internal teams and customers to manage overdue balances.
  • Maintain and update cash flow forecasts in collaboration with Operations.
  • Oversee petty cash management and reconciliation across offices.
  • Manage supplier confirmations and resolve related queries efficiently.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple regional accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Conduct prepayment and intercompany account reconciliations to ensure accurate period-end reporting.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable sub-ledgers to the general ledger across regional entities.
  • Support internal and external audit and compliance processes, including handling documentation requests and query resolution.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required to meet period-end deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • AAT level qualification (or pursuing) or qualified by experience, with 5+ years of practical experience in transactional accounting and month-end close.
  • Proven track record of resolving discrepancies and queries independently with sound judgement on escalation timing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to adhere to strict time deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently with high levels of accuracy.
  • A proactive and meticulous approach to financial management is vital.
