Our client is seeking a full-time Policy Adviser to join their team in Jersey. This pivotal role involves leading and contributing to regulatory policy initiatives that support the organisation’s objectives, reinforcing Jersey's position as a transparent and efficient international finance centre. The role focuses on conduct and prudential policy development, entailing expert research and analysis, high-quality drafting, project delivery, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned policy work, delivering clear advice on complex regulatory issues and contributing to both domestic and international regulatory advancements. JOB DUTIES:
- Lead the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of conduct and prudential regulatory policy, including legislation and guidance.
- Manage defined policy initiatives and workstreams from initial scoping through to implementation.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of complex regulatory issues, including impact assessments to support evidence-based policy making.
- Monitor international regulatory developments and assess their implications for the conduct and prudential framework.
- Draft high-quality consultation papers, policy statements, and briefings for the Executive Directors Committee and Board.
- Represent the organisation in consultations with industry, Government, and international standard-setting organisations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure policy proposals are informed by operational experience.
- Provide practical advice to colleagues and senior decision-makers on conduct and prudential policy matters.
- Manage cross-functional policy projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective governance.
- Ensure the regulatory framework remains accessible, coherent, and responsive to emerging risks and market developments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrable experience in conduct and/or prudential regulation is essential.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex issues and synthesise information into pragmatic policy solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong project management skills with experience in multidisciplinary project contributions.
- Professional curiosity and interest in financial markets and public policy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change effectively.
- Sound judgement and a proactive approach to developing policy solutions.
- Relevant experience should be demonstrably applicable to the responsibilities outlined.
