Our client is looking for a Senior Manager, Banking & Investment Supervision to lead their team responsible for supervising all licensed banks and investment businesses in Jersey. In this pivotal role, you will set clear priorities, make sound regulatory judgements, and ensure that supervisory resources are effectively concentrated on significant prudential, conduct, and financial crime risks. You will act as a visible leader, fostering trusted relationships with senior stakeholders while guiding firms to meet their regulatory obligations and taking decisive action when risks are inadequately managed. This position is full-time and based in Jersey.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing supervisory team, ensuring clarity and accountability.
- Establish risk-based, proportionate, and forward-looking supervision focused on the most critical issues.
- Identify emerging risks early, influencing and intervening effectively before issues escalate.
- Develop a coherent supervisory approach across prudential, conduct, and financial crime risks, underpinned by data and intelligence.
- Conduct timely and effective regulatory interventions, particularly for larger, systemically important firms.
- Cultivate strong strategic relationships with the Government of Jersey, industry leaders, representative bodies, and international counterparts.
- Drive continuous improvement in supervisory processes, including the responsible integration of AI and other technologies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive culture that attracts, develops, and retains talented individuals.
- Represent the organisation credibly with senior leaders across government, industry, and international organisations.
- Collaborate across the organisation to fulfil wider objectives and embody core values.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant senior-level experience in banking, investments, regulation, risk, or compliance is essential.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage change, and make balanced decisions in complex situations.
- Commercially aware, intellectually curious, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working across prudential, conduct, and financial crime risks, translating data and intelligence into prioritised actions.
- Experience utilising technology or AI to enhance quality, productivity, or decision-making is desirable.
