Nearly/Newly qualified/Qualified accountant

Our client is seeking a nearly qualified, newly qualified, or qualified accountant to undertake a mixed accountancy and tax role in the Isle of Man. This is a full-time position that offers an opportunity to manage a diverse range of responsibilities within the accounting field. The principal focus of the role will be on maintaining accounting records, preparing financial statements, and handling tax computations and submissions. In this position, you will have the opportunity to prepare financial statements up to the review stage, manage tax returns for both individual and corporate clients, and liaise with HMRC and the Isle of Man Income Tax Office. The role also provides the chance to collaborate with various teams within the organisation to meet submission deadlines effectively.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain company accounting records using Sage and Xero.
  • Prepare financial statements up to review stage with a view to progressing and becoming the reviewer.
  • Prepare iXBRL financial statements for submission to HMRC.
  • Prepare company, individual, and trust tax computations and tax returns for submission to both the Isle of Man tax office and HMRC.
  • Liaise with HMRC and the Isle of Man Income Tax Office as necessary.
  • Liaise with clients to provide the necessary support and information related to their accounts.
  • Coordinate with various teams in the business to manage submission deadlines effectively.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements is essential.
  • Familiarity with FRS 102 and FRS 105 is required.
  • Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is useful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Isle of Man and UK tax regulations would be advantageous; however, training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
