Compliance Officer

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Officer to join their team in Guernsey. This full-time and permanent role focuses on enhancing the compliance framework, supporting effective risk management, and promoting a positive compliance culture within the organisation. The Compliance Officer will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, offering expert guidance on regulatory requirements and governance while navigating an evolving regulatory landscape. In this crucial position, you will be instrumental in supporting the Group’s compliance and financial crime framework. Your primary responsibilities will include providing compliance advice, assisting with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) operations, and ensuring that regulatory requirements are seamlessly integrated into daily operations.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide compliance advice and guidance across the business.
• Support compliance monitoring and oversight activities.
• Assist with AML, CFT and financial crime prevention requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess business impact.
• Build positive relationships with regulators and key stakeholders.
• Support risk management and governance activities.
• Prepare compliance reports for senior management and Boards.
• Promote a positive compliance culture across the organisation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Professional compliance qualification (or working towards one) such as ICA, IRM or equivalent is essential.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management principles is essential.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to analyse information and provide practical solutions is essential.
• Experience in insurance or financial services would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach and commitment to continuous professional development is essential.
