Insurance Technician

Our client is seeking an Insurance Technician to provide vital technical and administrative support for war risks insurance policies. This full-time position is based in Bermuda and is focused on ensuring the accurate processing, documentation, and servicing of members. You will be responsible for administering policy documentation, declaring Additional Premiums, processing endorsements and renewals, and liaising with brokers and underwriters. In this role, you will also ensure compliance with the relevant sanctions framework while managing interactions shipping companies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting a critical line of insurance and developing professional relationships within the industry.

JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare, process, and maintain war risks insurance policies, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
• Declare and process Additional Premium calls.
• Liaise with brokers, members, underwriters, and claims handlers.
• Maintain accurate records within the electronic filing systems.
• Assist with Additional Premium calls to sanctioned countries.
• Support ship renewals and respond to broker and client enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures, service standards, and regulatory requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• You will have knowledge of policy documentation and insurance terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills are vital.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.
• Desirable experience includes insurance administration, technical processing, or underwriting support.
• Familiarity with marine or war risks insurance and sanctions compliance is preferred.
• You should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
