Our client is seeking a Treasury Services Officer to support the day-to-day delivery and control of client treasury services in a full-time capacity. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing, monitoring cash and liquidity, maintaining treasury records, and preparing operational and management information. Collaborating closely with the Head of Treasury and various teams, this role ensures that client cash is placed and administered according to approved mandates, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Job Duties:
- Process approved deposits, short-term cash placements, foreign exchange transactions, and other treasury instructions accurately and within agreed cut-off times.
- Monitor cash balances, expected inflows and outflows, settlement positions, and near-term liquidity requirements, escalating any concerns promptly.
- Ensure client instructions are complete, properly authorised, and within approved mandates and limits before execution.
- Track transactions through to settlement, investigate breaks or failed payments, and support timely reconciliations of bank, custody, and internal records.
- Maintain accurate static data, account details, and supporting due-diligence records.
- Prepare daily and periodic treasury information, including balances, maturities, yields, and exceptions for governance reporting.
- Monitor counterparty exposures and approved limits across the treasury portfolio, escalating any breaches or other concerns.
- Build effective relationships with colleagues, respond professionally to treasury-related queries, and identify potential clients for treasury services.
- Support the onboarding of new treasury clients by coordinating with colleagues and gathering necessary documentation.
- Contribute to maintaining procedures, data quality improvements, and the testing and implementation of approved changes.
- Maintain orderly records, provide cover for core treasury activities, and support business continuity arrangements.
Job Requirements:
- Previous treasury experience is helpful but not essential; candidates with transferable skills from education, banking, finance, or customer service are encouraged to apply.
- A good standard of general education with strong numeracy and written English skills; a willingness to learn treasury processes is essential.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, working towards professional qualifications such as the ACT Certificate in Treasury is desirable.
- Experience in following procedures, checking information, or maintaining accurate records is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications is desirable; training on treasury systems will be provided.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in handling payment and settlement information.
- Ability to organise competing priorities, meet cut-off times, and follow tasks through to completion.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and reconciliation skills with confidence in investigating discrepancies.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgement and a proactive approach to escalating issues rather than circumventing controls.
- Understanding of confidentiality, client money responsibilities, operational risk, fraud prevention, and the importance of complete records.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with colleagues across different teams.
