Our client is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their Private Capital team. The role involves providing fund valuation and accounting services to private capital funds and vehicles, ensuring compliance with fund documentation, legal, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards. The Fund Accountant will support the preparation of financial statements, valuations, reconciliations, and capital statements, ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met.
Job Duties:
- Assist in preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual financial statements with supporting documentation.
- Support the preparation of monthly valuations, reconciliations of fund drawdowns, distributions, accruals, and expenses.
- Input double-entry bookkeeping into the accounting system.
- Assist with cash reconciliation and management for the funds.
- Prepare drawdown, equalisation, and distribution calculations in line with fund documentation.
- Assist in preparing fund investor capital statements and IRR calculations as required.
- Attend client and audit meetings related to financial statement provision for investors.
- Liaise with external and internal parties (e.g. clients, auditors, other BNP offices) on day-to-day accounting tasks, custom reporting, and specific investor needs.
- Contribute to the review and monitoring of business processes, procedures, and checklists to maximise efficiency and productivity within the Private Capital team.
Job Requirements:
- Strong accounting skills with a good understanding of financial statements and reporting.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Interest in studying towards ACCA, ACA, or similar qualifications.
- Basic understanding of fund structures, fund cash flows, and the Private Capital industry.
- Prior experience in private capital and fund accounts preparation is desirable.
- Experience working in a multinational environment and handling tight deadlines is preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to deal with various parties both internal and external.
