Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Manager or Assistant Manager to support the Tax Directors in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Jersey tax compliance department. The role focuses on motivating the team, maintaining high-quality work standards, and delivering effective client service to achieve organisational success.
Job Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tax compliance function.
- Review work prepared by the compliance team, including first or second reviews of Tax Seniors’ and Tax Associates’ tasks.
- Collaborate with the Tax Director on compliance client status updates.
- Work with the Tax Co-ordinator to conduct risk reviews of tax compliance clients as required.
- Ensure departmental processes are followed to meet compliance deadlines, achieve prompt turnaround times, and address technical points.
- Act as the main contact for the Business Advisory department, managing file turnarounds and addressing matters efficiently.
- Arrange and lead team meetings on tax compliance issues, such as deadlines, workflows, and turnaround times.
- Liaise with tax and social security authorities on queries and respond efficiently.
- Oversee advisory work related to compliance clients and assist in delegating tasks to ensure timely service delivery.
- Monitor the department’s WIP (Work in Progress) and manage monthly WIP provisions.
- Support the Tax Director in developing the technical skills of Tax Seniors and Tax Associates by identifying and addressing knowledge gaps.
- Promote the firm’s services and identify cross-selling opportunities to build and maintain client relationships.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm to foster client retention, growth, and new business opportunities.
