Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join their Private Capital team. In this role, you will provide fund valuation and accounting services to private capital funds, ensuring compliance with fund documentation, legal and regulatory requirements, and accounting standards. The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing cash reconciliations, and providing investor capital statements. This role reports directly to the Manager and will be instrumental in ensuring internal and external deadlines are met, along with adherence to operational procedures.
Job Duties:
- Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual financial statements under various accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP).
- Perform monthly valuations, reconciliations of fund drawdowns, distributions, accruals, expenses, and other financial activities.
- Input double-entry bookkeeping into the accounting system.
- Assist in cash reconciliation and management for the funds.
- Prepare drawdown, equalisation, and distribution calculations in line with fund documentation.
- Prepare fund investor capital statements and investor IRR calculations as required.
- Attend client and audit meetings regarding the provision of financial statements to investors.
- Liaise with external and internal parties, including clients, auditors, and other offices, to ensure accurate and timely fund accounting and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the year-end/interim audit process, following a monitored timetable and audit requirement list.
- Contribute to the review and monitoring of existing business processes, procedures, and checklists to optimise efficiency within the Private Capital Team.
- Participate in group projects related to new systems or platform implementations, ensuring operational procedures are updated accordingly.
Job Requirements:
- Strong experience in fund accounting, particularly with private capital funds.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP).
- Experience in financial statement preparation, fund valuations, reconciliations, and other financial operations.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Experience working with both internal and external auditors.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems, with experience in project implementation a plus.
